Privacy Policy

www.learnwithseren.co.uk (the "Site") is owned and operated by Seren Manyera (“me”, “I”, “my”), who is also the data controller and can be contacted at seren@learnwithseren.co.uk

This Privacy Policy applies in addition to the Terms and Conditions of my Site.

GDPR
For users in the European Union, I adhere to the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016, known as the General Data Protection Regulation (the "GDPR"). For users in the United Kingdom, I adhere to the GDPR as enshrined in the Data Protection Act 2018.

Consent
By using my Site you confirm that you consent to the conditions set out in this Privacy Policy.

When the legal basis for me processing your personal data is that you have provided your consent to that processing, you may withdraw your consent at any time. If you withdraw your consent, it will not make processing which I completed before you withdrew your consent unlawful. Legal Basis for Processing
I collect and process personal data about users in the EU only when I have a legal basis for doing so under Article 6 of the GDPR. I rely on the following legal bases to collect and process the personal data of users in the EU:

  1. Users have provided consent to the processing of their data for one or more specific purposes; and
  2. Processing of users personal data is necessary to enable me to take steps, when requested by the user, in readiness of entering into a contract with the user or for the performance of a contract with the user. If the user does not provide the personal data necessary to enter into a contract then I will be unable to proceed with tuition services.

Personal Data I Collect
When you use the contact me form available on my Site, or in subsequent correspondence, you may share personal data with me, which I will only collect to help me achieve the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. The personal data I may collect includes (but not limited to) the following information:

  1. First and last name (parent and student);
  2. Age (student);
  3. Date of birth (student);
  4. Gender (student);
  5. Email address (parent);
  6. Phone number (parent);
  7. Address (parent and student);
  8. Name and address of school (student);
  9. Assessment of skills and educational needs (student); and
  10. Assessments/exam marks (student).

The personal data collected will depend on the personal data you share with me and the personal data I need to collect in line with this Privacy Policy.

How I Use Personal Data
Data collected through my Site or through correspondence will only be used for the purposes specified in this Privacy Policy or as indicated on the relevant pages of my Site. I will not use your data beyond what is set out in this Privacy Policy.

The data I collect may be used for the following purposes:

  1. To contact you via email, telephone, text or similar to discuss the provision of tuition services, including initial assessment and beyond.

Who I Share Personal Data With
I will not sell or share your data with other third parties, except in the following cases:

  1. If the law requires it;
  2. If it is required for any legal proceeding; and
  3. To prove or protect my legal rights.

If you follow hyperlinks from my Site to another Site, please note that I am not responsible for and have no control over their privacy policies and practices.

How Long I Store Personal Data
User data will be stored for 28 days and then destroyed if I do not hear any further from you. You will be notified if your data is kept for longer than this period.

If you do proceed to enter into a contract with me for tuition services, I will provide you with a further Privacy Policy covering the duration of our contract.

How I Protect Your Personal Data

Your information is securely stored on my phone and computer. My devices are password-protected. Firewall and virus protection software are in place on all devices used. I will keep all paper-based records about children and their families in a locked filing cabinet. I may also store information in secure cloud-based storage. 

While I take all reasonable precautions to ensure that user data is secure and that users are protected, there always remains the risk of harm. The Internet as a whole can be insecure at times and therefore I am unable to guarantee the security of user data beyond what is reasonably practical.

Your Rights as a User
Under the GDPR, you have the following rights:

  1. Right to be informed;
  2. Right of access;
  3. Right to rectification;
  4. Right to erasure;
  5. Right to restrict processing;
  6. Right to data portability; and
  7. Right to object.

Children
I will only collect or use personal data from children under 16 years of age with express consent from their parent/guardian.

How to Access, Modify, Delete, or Challenge the Data Collected
If you would like to know if I have collected your personal data, how I have used your personal data, if I have disclosed your personal data and to who I disclosed your personal data, if you would like your data to be deleted or modified in any way, or if you would like to exercise any of your other rights under the GDPR, please contact me at seren@learnwithseren.co.uk

Modifications
This Privacy Policy may be amended from time to time in order to maintain compliance with the law and to reflect any changes to my data collection process. When I amend this Privacy Policy I will update the version number at the bottom of this Privacy Policy. I recommend that you periodically review my Privacy Policy to ensure that you are notified of any updates.

These terms and conditions (the "Terms and Conditions") govern the use of www.learnwithseren.co.uk (the "Site"). This Site is owned and operated by Seren Manyera (“me”, “I”, “my”). This Site provides more information about my tuition services and experience.

All content published and made available on my Site belongs to me unless otherwise indicated. This includes, but is not limited to images, text, logos, documents, downloadable files and anything that contributes to the composition of my Site.
